Reinstalling Directtv2pc and it's not finding my receiver
My computer crashed and I had to reinstall my OS as well as get a new router. Prior to this Directtv2pc was working fine, but when I just reinstalled it (after using the adviser as well) it isn't finding my receiver. I am thinking it must have something to do with the new router, but it IS connected just as it was on the old one. I'm not sure what to do at this point and any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd guess that your HD DVR is still seeking the old router, you can reconfigue the connection thus, assuming you do not have the Whole Home DVR service. If you do, post back. This is based on a Ethernet cable connected network.
Connect the Ethernet cable to the top or only port of the DVR and an open port on the router. Check that the router has DHCP enabled (essential). Do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR. When it's booted up, do thus: Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> restore defaults. At this point stop and go to your router and disconnect AC power for a minute and plug it back in. When all the lights settle down, go back to the DVR and run the "connect now" command. You should get a "connected to Internet" message. Allow 24 hours for the system to download then try downloading a concert from channel 1239 as a test. If you now seek a receiver, Directv2PC should find it.

Thank you so much! Sounds pretty simple. I'll give it a try as soon as I get a chance and let you know how I make out. Thanks again!!

I have a similar problem (receivers stopped showing up in DIRECTV2PC list after replacing router) but also have the Whole Home DVR. How does the home network change your advice? The playlists from 2 DVRs show correctly on the DVRs but no receiver shows in my DIRECTV2PC list. Thanks for your help!

The networking on the whole home system is different. You cannot use a direct connect ethernet cable to the whole home dvr it will prevent your playlist from sharing to the other receivers on the whole home network.

If you have a coax to Ethernet BB adapter next to your router, the reset is more involved.
First thing to try is resetting the DECA network....it must be done in this order. Before you begin, assure that DHCP is enabled on your router if your system is connected to the Internet. This is essential.
1. Disconnect AC power from each DVR and Receiver
2. Disconnect power from the DECA BB Adapter (black or white DECA BB box) or wireless adapter.
3. Disconnect power from the SWM dish Power Inserter (do you know where yours is located)?
4. Disconnect then reconnect AC power on your home network gateway/router and modem.
5. Wait a few minutes for the router to reset
6. Re-power the SWM Power Inserter.
7. Re-power the DECA Broadband Adapter or wireless adapter.
8. Re-power each DVR and Receiver
Following that, press and hold the info button on one DVR, then select more system info. Scroll down and check that Internet is listed as connected.
