Skipping, Freezing, Pixelating and Freezing Again - What is this??

I've seen a few other posts about this. But haven't seen a fix.  I hope that doesn't mean there isn't one.  We just want to stop the madness.  Has anyone been able to resolve this?

We're in extreme southwestern NC.  We have 2 TVs, 1 attached to a wired box with a DVR.  The other is a smaller box (no DVR) - nothing fancy.

The “skipping” thing has been happening for about 4 months now.  I wondered if it could be the solar flares, but it keeps happening and is getting worse.  At first it was just some short freezes with no audio.  But now it freezes for minutes at a time, comes back pixelated then immediately skips again.

I called, and we did the whole reset/diagnostic thing over the phone. They sent a tech out to the house. He said it was not the box, not the TV, not the dish or the wires.  We don't use the internet for TV so nothing there.  He looked the problem up on his phone and found it was a nationwide thing.  Was also happening in Texas and other states, it is supposedly in an "investigative stage".  So I guess they don't know what it is either.

We've been with DirectTV for 14 years and it's always been good before this.

I got $20 off my bill but that doesn't come close to making this ok.  What I would really like is to not have the problem anymore.

Ok.  Just relaying what I was told. So is there a fix?  That's what I'm hoping to find out.

What are the model numbers of the receivers?  What are the signal readings on the 99/103 sat?  You can post pictures of them.

Hope at last!  Thank you both.  I'll look for the info and post it here.
