So I should NOT hook up my ethernet connection myself?

Just clarifying.. from reading the forum, I understand that I should not attempt to connect my Whole Home system to my router, or I will bump out my network etc etc?

Yes, the installer offered to hook that up but at the time I did not have any router connected for my PC & didn't want to trouble the installer to wait while I dug the thing out & hooked it up. (Don't you think, since this seems to be so crucial, that DirecTV should tell us before installation to have that at the ready?) .. But anyway, the Installer wrote down instructions on how to hook that up myself & I did find in the manual some instructions as well.

BUT, I do not want to lose my entire thing here.

Am I to understand correctly, if I request Directv to come back and do this for me there is about a $25 charge but if I do it myself I'm likely to undo my network and probably have no recourse but to call Directv anyway? Is that pretty much accurate?

Thanks!
