Solution (Qualified): A/V Receiver and 3D

My TV, the Samsung series 8+ 8000 plasma, has the option under ‘content view’ to select and process side-by-side/split screen 3D correctly. My guess is other 3D TV’s have this option. With the DirecTV receiver connected to my A/V HDMI 1.4 receiver input and the 1.4 output connected to my TV, the default 3D display is side-by-side/split screen. Under the TV’s menu, selecting ‘content view’, side-by-side option resolves the 3D problem and results in a very good 3D display. No A/V receiver HDMI by-pass for video and digital audio are needed.
