Some videos play, some do not

I have a strange problem. All SD content plays. Some HD content plays and is very smoothe. For example, The Office and Man vs Wild play in HD and they look great. However, other content will not play at all in HD. For example, 24 and Lost freeze as soon as they start playing. Any Ideas?
