Sony Soundbar and DirecTV

I have a Sony HT-Z9F soundbar and a Sony television.  Bravia sync works fine with my C61W-400 genie mini but will not work with my 4K C61K-700.  The TV will does not recognize the connection.

The C61K-700 works perfectly with my Sony HT-X8500 which is also connected to a Sony Bravia TV.

Hey @cheshirecb, let us help you sync your Sony Bravia to your 4k C61K-700.

This issue is likely caused when too many HDMI-CEC devices are connected to the Bravia sync system.

To get started, follow the steps when Bravia sync feature does not operate properly.

Let us know if that helps!

Hi

I have it connected from the receiver directly to the soundbar.  There is also an Apple TV box connected to the soundbar but nothing else.  I don't understand why the mini works fine, but if I want to watch 4K programming with the other received I can't use the soundbar.

We are here to help you resolve your audio concern @cheshirecb,

  1. What happens when you try connecting to to the 4K C61K-700?
  2. Do you get any error messages?

Let us know more so we can better assist you.

We also recommend reaching out to your TV and sound bar manufacturer to confirm compatibility of these two product.

We look forward to your response!

The soundbar is listed as a compatible soundbar with this TV.

I have contacted Sony several times and they were unable to assist.  They suggested a CEC Less Adaptor which i installed but it made no difference.

If I reboot the tv and soundbar the connected device is usually shown, but after a period of time they are no longer shown as a connected device.

If I try to select a connected device, none are found.

We are here to help, @cheshirecb

All 4k TV's should be compatible with our Direct TV 4K service as long as it is set up properly and there are no software conflict. You might want to check your connections since it connect initially and disconnect subsequently.

Have you ever been able to fully enjoy the 4k content on your device , and did the audio issue happen recently?

We look forward to hearing from you!
