Still confused about 99 and 103 reception
Hi all,
I've read a lot of the posts regarding the 99 and 103 bird issues. I just had an installer here yesterday and he installed a 5lnb (at9) on a post on the side of my house. Last night, I was getting signals of 90 to 95 for 101 and slightly less for 110 and 119.
On the 103 bird, transponder 10 gives a very good signal of about 92. All other transponders on 103 are 0. However, ALL 99 bird transponders give me 0 signal (not n/a). I realize that 99 is 2 degrees away from 101 (which is where the at9 is focused) and it's possible that I'm not getting a signal because the corner of my house gets in the way of 99.
Question 1: I'm getting all of my locals right now (abc, nbc, cbs, fox) in HD. Should I be getting ANY type of signal from 99? The installer said there was no way for us to check to see if I'm getting a signal on 99 because there is nothing coming from that bird in my area right now. I'm a little skeptical because I could tell he wanted to get my install done so he could go home early. When I run the system setup, I get an error because it says the 99 bird fails.
Question 2: Are there plans to offer new channels (non-locals) on the 99 bird but not he 103? If so, is there any way for me to confirm whether or not I'll be able to get a signal from 99?
Thanks!!
