Stream to Win 7 in VMWare

Hi,
I'm a completely new DirecTV user coming from Comcast. They finally encrypted nearly everything on their cable which pretty much made my MythTV/HD-Homerun system useless. I got a 2 box system installed yesterday - one HDDVR and one HD receiver. The guy at the store sold me on the system based on convincing me that I could stream recorded content to my PC which I'm now trying to learn about.

In my office I'm Linux-based and use VMWare Workstation running Win XP and Win 7 to stream things like NetFlix Instant Watch. It works fine. My question at this point is what can I do with the HDDVR? Reading in the forums it seems that the physical requirements for streaming HD material are quite extensive. My machines are powerful enough (i7-980x, i7-920, i5-661) and I've got good graphic cards, as well as HDCP enabled monitors. However it seems that the DTV2PC evaluator doesn't see any of this as it's all really running Linux and the VMWare driver model doesn't pass that information up.

Am I totally out of luck WRT HD material, or have others been able to do this?

As this is just TV to me the quality is not important. I'm happy to record in SD if it enables streaming the material easily.

I might consider dumping the HDPVR in favor of a couple of DTV STBs recorded by Myth, but I'd rather not if possible.

I'll say thanks in advance for now. I'm very new and need to study the forums more but if someone can put me on the right track about working within VMWare then I'd very much appreciate it.

Cheers,
Mark
