Streaming Problems on Mac

Why can't I no longer stream on my Mac notebook?  I have used directv since the ATT and Directv merger...now, I cannot stream. Why is that?  Every since ATT started controlling Directv, there has been nothing but huge problems.  Also, we now have the whole house directv genie....I hate it because it goes out every 10 minutes or so.  We have reset it, pushed the red button on the box, and refreshed it...nothing works.  I have been a directv customer for almost 20 years and I have never been so frustrated as I am now.  Ready to say goodbye if something doesn't work the way it should.
