There needs to be a setting to increase the delay on channel entry on the remote

For the elderly and other viewers with impaired mobility there needs to be a setting to increase the delay on channel entry on the remote. With the default (currently only) settings it can be difficult to enter three numbers on the remote before the channel selection changes to the channel of the first or second digits, The settings need to offer either the chance to take more time to enter each digit or change channels only after the view presses the select button. Likewise (and actually for everyone) there needs to be a way to modify the current channel entry so that, for example, if you wanted to enter channel 356 but you started with 34 by mistake, you could delete the 4 and continue with 56 rather than starting from scratch. 

I recently visited by elderly father and saw him struggle with the remote not so much out of lack of understanding by simply out of the physical difficulty in operating a device that is not designed with mobility issues in mind.
