It would really help to have more details about your equipment, how everything is networked and what troubleshooting you've tried so far.  You have to be our eyes and ears to your problem.

I'm just some unskilled, newbie 50-something who never took any computer courses who mostly depends on others who are skilled in this field to help me out. I had a technician set up the connection back when it was OnDemand and it worked. Then several months ago, I changed my computer set up to a wireless router. Nothing else has changed. I followed all the directions in the help menu on my TV and it wouldn't connect. I figured calling Directv would help. The guy knew less than I do. He had me reconnect my cables in a way that when I did, gave me satellite issues as well as internet issues. He told me to come here. I hung up with him, put my TV set up back together the way I had it before I talked to him. At least I can watch my regular channels again. I don't have the computer degree to be able to connect so I can use CinemaPlus. Oh well, maybe I can get a job as an over the phone Directv technician.

How is the HR20 connected to your home network?

Connecting a HD DVR to your router is easy, so long as you do all the steps in the right order. Assuming you have a Ethernet cable connected to the top Ethernet port of the HR20 and a port on your router, here's how to connect.

Connect the Ethernet cable to the top port of the DVR and an open port on the router. Do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR. When it's booted up, do thus: Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> restore defaults. At this point stop and go to your router and disconnect AC power for a minute and plug it back in. When all the lights settle down, go back to the DVR and run the "connect now" command. You should get a "connected to Internet" message.Allow 24 hours for the system to download then try downloading a concert from channel 1239 as a test.

Note that when you change routers, the HR20 continues to seek the old setup.  The restoring of defaults and resetting the router will clear the old settings and allow the HR20 and router to reconfigure to each other.
