Trying to watch directv on my MacBook (OS v. 12 - Monterey) - I keep getting a message to "Upgrade Directv Player" - again and again

I'm trying to watch directv on my MacBook and whenever I try to play something I get the message "Upgrade Directv Player." When I follow the instructions, I get a message that I have successfully installed the software necessary to watch directv. However, the next time I try to watch directv on the MacBook, I get the same message. Very frustrating. I have followed the instructions and installed the software at least 30 times, trying to resolve this issue for over a month. Before I upgraded the operating system on my MacBook, I was able to watch directv on it. Since I upgraded to version 12 (Monterey) of the Operating System I keep having this frustrating problem. I have tried uninstalling Adobe Flash, deleting the cookies, quitting and restarting the browser (I've tried both Safari and Chrome), and of course rebooting. Please help me. Thank you.
