Why can I see only one channel below 200 (39)on my DIRECTV app?

I’ve reset my genie and registered my iPad. I can see only one channel (39 NBC local) below 200.

Hi @nwallyj, thanks for contacting us.

There are some common issues on the DIRECTV app that might be fixed by following these steps:


Check for app updates in your app store. If an update is available, install it and restart your device.
Check for device software updates and install.
Close and restart the DIRECTV app.
Reboot your phone or tablet.
Uninstall and reinstall the DIRECTV app.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I reset the genie and that fixed it.   Found a new problem I’ll post separately.

I have a follow on to this.  Once all the channels displayed I tried to watch the football game on local channel CBS 8 in San Diego.  I received an error message the the receiver was busy or I was streaming on another device. The receive had not been in use since early in the AM the night before and I am the only streamer in the house.  I switched to channel 39 and I could play it.  Back to 8. Same error.   8 will play this morning.  I get this frustrating result constantly.

I continue to get the ‘receiver busy’ message.  I spent 30 minutes with telephone support with no change.  I’ve logged in and out of direct Tv viewing on my laptop to make sure that was not causing an issue.  Same for my iPhone.  I still can’t view random channels on my iPad with the DIRECTV App.  Mostly the football games, but I tried a couple other channels and some worked and some didn’t. 

It would nice to be able to depend on the system I pay over $200/mo to do what I it should do without having to reset the genie and all of devices,etc etc.

This is completely useless.  It does not even come close to the subject of my issue.  Did you even read my post?

I’m unable to play certain live TV channels on my iPad ( or my iPhone for that matter  )  with the DIRECTV app. I thought it was NFL Sunday ticket.  NHL Center ICE channels play.   Local channels and other  chanmels are also randomly affected.
