Why can’t I stream F1 recordings on my iPhone?
My direct tv dvr records F1 for me. Why can’t I play the recordings on a mobile device? As a specific example, my husband is on a business trip and was hoping to play the recordings while on downtime. Also, I’m sitting at home and can’t play the recordings on my phone. All other shows work, but not F1. And weirdly a partial recording of a repeat showing of the Saudi Arabia race will play on my phone but nothing else associated with F1.

When did you start having the problem to watch the recordings of F1?
You can try to uninstall and reinstall the app. You can also to check the troubleshooting guide.
Let us know how it goes.

DTV dropped support for streaming from the Genie when outside the home network a few years ago.

@NatJ
Streaming recordings out-of-home was dropped a few years ago.
If you have the 2nd generation Genie (HR44) or higher, you can copy recordings temporarily (30 days) to a mobile device while at home. So, copying must be done at home connected to your own network before you go traveling.

DIRECTVhelp I don’t know how long this has been a problem. It’s the first time my husband attempted to watch a recorded showing of F1 while using a mobile device. I then tried to see if I could fix the problem and noticed I have the same problem watching recorded F1 on my mobile devices while in my home but can watch other shows. Everyone is saying you cannot “stream” recorded shows from outside the home in the direct tv app. Is this correct? Seems silly to me.

@juniper
this does not explain why I can’t watch F1 while at home using a mobile device, but can watch all my other recordings.

It may seem silly to you, but it is correct. The feature was dropped a couple years ago or so. Was theorized this was done because the feature didn't work that well and they wanted to simply their focus as first and foremost DirecTV is service by satellite and any streaming options are secondary perks.
Yes, the previous info was for out-of-home streaming only. For your situation I do not know if it is a technical issue, or that the exact content is not allowed by F1 as networks pick and choose what is allowed for in-home streaming as they own the content.
