why does direct tv keep cutting out or freezing or you lose sound

It is extremely frustrating to take 4 hours to watch a 1.2 hr movie!  The system keeps cutting out, or stalls or I lose sound on my ipad. called and called. Was told its the application so I redownloaded and still having issues. Was told on my last call over 2 weeks ago that someone would follow up with me and credit my account, but nothing.  Trying to watch a movie again and all it keeps doing is cutting out intermitently with error 2100. called into tech support only to be told to call back in an hour since your systems are down.  What is going on? Can watch amazon prime all day long, no problems. Try to watch Direct tv and all I get is crashes.  HELP!
