Why don't I get any Youtube results with my Smart search?

I am connected to the internet with my new HR24 and the Cinema kit, but I never get any Youtube videos with my smart search. Anyone else have this problem?

How long have you been connected to the Internet?  It can take a few days for the material to fill in for the YouTube connection.  You can check by pressing and holding the Info button on the HD DVR's remote, then select more system info.  Scroll down to Internet, does it show as connected?  If so, how about the Services Ports, does each have a number.  If not, then you need to wait until they populate automatically.  If there are numbers there, exit that menu, then do  a search of "Directv".  When the results are populated, scroll down to the last entry, it should be Directv YouTube.  Select that and you'll see a menu of articles.

Thanks. It is connected to the internet, the ports have numbers, but still no youtube vids. I connected it to the net 3 days ago. I tried the search, but could not find anything on youtube.

Wait a few more days.  Remember that the YouTube result will be the very last entry in the search results so you'll need to scroll down.

It has been 5 days. I still get no Youtube results and I get nothing about Youtube when I search "directv". I always scroll all of the pages. This is disapointing. Any suggestions?

I guess that there is no suggestions from anyone? I am not a complainer. I purchased the Wireless Kit so I could do this. I paid for the kit, and no one can help me. I just don't get this! If I paid for this kit and this service, I think I should receive it. Can anyone help me here?

Are you able to successfully download CinemaPlus OnDemand shows?

You might try resetting the DVR again.  Sometimes it just takes a few days and they suddenly appear.  It's a rather flaky feature sometimes.

I am able to download OnDemand shows. I will wait a couple more days and then reset as you suggest. I thank you for your support. I am now aware that you are not a Directv support person, and you all have tried to help me. I will try again with Directv after a couple more days. They sure have not been much help!

I would reset the connection thus:

Do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR.  When it's booted up, do thus:   Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> restore defaults. At this point stop and go to your router and disconnect AC power for a minute and plug it back in.  When all the lights settle down, go back to the DVR and run the "connect now" command.  You should get a "connected to Internet" message.
