Why is the tablet app a piece of crap?

Consistently the app crashes during playback, always chooses on demand rather than actual recording, and it takes 13 attempts to watch an hour long show.

I've done all of that except factory reset the tablet which I'm not going to do, because that is way too much to restore after. I have zero problems with other streaming/ on demand apps on it, it is ONLY the DirecTV app. Just tonight I was trying to watch something and it crashed 3 times in a row, restarted, resumed playing at a point, went through commercials, then crashed and resumed at the same  place in the show.

Do you have any problems streaming on the live TV section, or only when trying to access recorded content? Also, have you tried any other devices?

For recorded shows, have you set up the Mobile DVR function?
