Will a Roku replace my wireless access point

I currently have a HD DVR connected to a wireless access point that is connected to my computer wirelessly.  If I purchase a Roku LT or 2 will I be able to get rid of the wireless access point and still be able to use directv to pc etc.?  Basically I would like to get a Roku to stream Amazon prime movies to tv and would use the Roku to do so.

robsibis,

There is no....I repeat NO relationship between a streaming device like a Roku and your DirecTV HD DVR. You will need to connect your Roku to the Internet and to your HDTV completely independently of the current network connection of your DirecTV HD DVR. The "proper" network connection of your DirecTV HD DVR to the same router your PC is on will allow you to use the DirecTV Media Share and DirecTV2PC network features.
