Will the wireless work without having hardline access to the modem?
I share a wireless connection with my neighbor. The modem is in his house, thus there is no way to connect a hardline wire to anything in my house. The connection is secure and obviously I know the password for the connection. However before I waste the time and money I want to know if this kit will even work in my situation and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Anyone know???
Thanks

What "kit"? DirecTV's wireless Cinema Connection Kit can work with your neighbor's WiFi, provided the signal is strong enough.

Well Directv advertising the connection through a "connection kit" I don't want to order it if it's not going to work.
This is the link to the directv advertising page for the connection kit I am talking about: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/technology/connected_home?footernavtype=-1&lpos=header
So, the connection kit will work with my directv dvr box/tv even though the wireless modem is in my neighbors house so there will be no access to the neighbors modem?

Yes, again, so long as the signal is strong enough. Are you currently running any wireless equipment, a laptop or iPad connected to the neighbors router? If so and the connection is solid, the Kit should work as well.
Note that there are two Cinema Connection Kits for sale. You want the one marked for self installation and it sells for about $32. If all you see is a more expensive model, call and tell them you want the wireless Cinema Connection Kit for self installation and the cost is $32.
