Of course Directv carries ABC. My local ABC channel works fine. What you are talking about is your local ABC channel that the channel owner has pulled over a contract dispute. There is no price drop for losing a channel. At best you may get a credit but you’ll have to call.

@Lowerrates
You are not paying for ABC or any other channel guaranteed.
DirecTV packages include locals in general. Depends on where you live on what ones are considered in your Designated Market Area (DMA). And of course DirecTV may only provide the channel with a carriage agreement with the channel owner.
I'm guessing the carriage agreement came up and so the channel owner pulled the feed (as is their right). Typically this is done to leverage us customers against the TV provider to keep rates high (usually higher). And since DirecTV does not itemize locals to a cost based on where you live, but equals it out over all packages, then any rate hike affects all customers not just you or those where you live.
In the meantime plug in a regular antenna to get the free broadcast within range (perhaps other channels like sub-channels that aren't provided). Otherwise find another channel to watch. Must of us didn't go to pay TV just to receive our OTA locals.
