All channels say I need to purchase them
I'm messaging in regards to my great grandmother. Anytime she selects a channel they all say she needs to purchase them. I've resent her router multiple times with no change.

@Dcorrine2000 so she is getting error 721? As @shannon02 previously stated the resetting of the router does nothing as DIRECTV is a satellite service delivered through a satellite dish mounted on the roof or ground. It is not delivered through WiFi, while a different service called DIRECTV STREAM is delivered this way.
You have to have her visit DIRECTV.com/help and refresh the receiver after putting her login credentials in. If she has multiple receivers and only one with the issue, she will need to identify the correct one to refresh by taking note of the Receiver ID and access card of the receiver with the error code and refreshing that particular one as noted online. If the wrong one is refreshed, this will have no change on the error and it will persist.

Resetting the router does nothing for DTV sat TV, refreshing her account authorizations may. You have to log into her account or call DTV if you are an authorized user to have them do it.

@Dcorrine2000 just to confirm, your great grandmother has DIRECTV SATELLITE SERVICE?
If she has DIRECTV STREAM (delivered via internet) then resetting the router would be one of the recommendations to try satisfying the issue.

The TV saying to reset the router is to reconnect it to to the internet if was already connected not anything to do with DTV service.

DTV has got some balls! You charge for almost every movie. Why charge for movies 30 to 60 years old?
Plus your DVR recording options really (Edited per community guidelines). I tell it only tape new shows and it will tape whatever comes up! Need to spend some of that movie money fix things.
If there was somebody else to get what I want I'd be gone again.
Also that survey you sent today was NOT about DTV but about cruises so I have given my last one.

@kirk68411 first off this is a public forum and we are customers just like you. DIRECTV isn’t the one charging you so much for the movie. They have no control over the price given to them for each film. If the survey given to you was about a cruise, it wasn’t from DIRECTV and was probably a fake email. Be careful what you click on next time and always verify the email sender or certificate of each website you visit.

The channels are the ones charging for their On Demand programs, DTV only collects it. Unless the channels provide the correct air date in the guide data the DVR has no way to know if it is first run or not so it records it anyway or you used search to find the program and it uses its own default option to record on all channels and On Demand and reruns for binge watchers.

@kirk68411
They are not giving you movies for free. A PPV is renting the movie. The companies that own those movies still want their cut.
Just like the old days of Blockbuster and other movie rental places, PPVs are just that but digital. Paying for a monthly TV service doesn't mean you have all movies included. This is no different from any TV provider.
You don't want to pay for a movie, then watch what is on the channels you get instead of PPVs. Leave the entitlement at the door. You only get what you pay for.
