Bring back the Xtra package

Family (not listed as is a special option to save cost for a while, mainly for kid's use, or someone just kept satellite for locals) > Select > Entertainment > Choice > Xtra > Ultimate > Premier is how it had been for so long. (And then Titanium for those that wanted practically the entire service, possibly for multiple homes).

There was also Preferred Xtra added in (when RSN fee became itemized instead of hidden in package cost) that removed most sports channels and added in several others in its place. With no RSN fee the total cost was similar to being in Choice but more value for those that watched little to no sports.

This was one of the changes I noticed after AT&T acquired DirecTV. They removed a lot of options that were flexible for the consumer and simplified to all-in-one options (presumably as better fit their bottom line). Similar concept to discontinuing dedicated receivers and going into a client-only setup with the Genie-2 (HS17).

I really wish that since AT&T got out of the TV business that the new owner will return to providing and innovating options that encourage TV watchers to want to become or remain a customer.

Ultimate having to pay full cost for Starz, unfortunately that was the Starz agreement long before AT&T. Though there has been the Encore-only pack (not well-known) for those below Ultimate. To my understanding the majority who look for the Encore channels are really just wanting Encore Western.
