tv has been showing called id but suddenly stopped. have tried pressing the reset button as well as unplugging. any remedies or suggestions??

Go into Menu and then Extras and verify that Caller ID option is showing.
If this is the HR44, then unfortunately it is gone. Starting with this model, though the last to have a phone jack, the new user interface removes outdated features such as Caller ID on TV. Any earlier model stays on the old software, but as the feature hasn't been supported in years if it breaks there is no official remedy.
