Complaint regarding billing

I was quoted $128.48 per month until the end of 2026, by a representative,  but was billed $169.00. I want to pay that which was quoted to me. It is not my problem if the associate was not trained adequately. I think it is unfair not to stand by the word that was given (which I thought was given  in good faith) to me by one if your employees. I have been with Direct TV for 20 or more years, even though your records show only two. I would prefer to stay with your company, but if I must...

I can be contacted by the phone number listed in my billing records. Thank you for your immediate attention to this issue.

Nobody knows who you are. This is a public forum so no private information is permitted to be shared. And they don't call you. It is up to you to call them.

Fortunately, you lucked out and their small forum team is sending you a Direct Message (DM), which is a private chat within the forum.

There is no guarantee of an exact amount (taxes, RSN fee, etc. could fluctuate). If this is the first bill after the quote I wonder if either there were changes mid-cycle which would cause proration on this bill making it higher than the following ones, or based on your billing dates that any new promotions you may have gotten do not start until the next bill generated. The bill and account would need to be reviewed.

DirecTV usually tries to accommodate or find some middle ground. But no business can honor every word by every rep. For example if that rep promised you free HBO for the next 5 years, you wouldn't be getting that.

As for 20 years but only shows 2, that would suggest different accounts. If you had continuous service, in your name and not multiple accounts at the same time (2nd home, vacation cabin, etc.), then the entire time should be shown. The concern there is if some agent did account fraud to trick the system to think you were a new customer to get a starting special again that you naturally wouldn't be eligible for (which also looses any legacy perks you may have had).

Hope this gets sorted for you. Just be prepared they may not be able to give you everything you want or expect. They cannot honor just anything the rep may have said on a whim, but they will see what they can do to work within the options that actually are there.
