dc local NBC channel 4 audio drop-outs
for years the audio will drop for 1 second. It could happen 10 times a minute or not for 15 minutes. Its not just my location, my son who lives 90 miles away has the same issue. Watching the news and trying to understand what they are saying is a pain. Any idea who we complain to?

In this case you complain to specifically the Washington NBC station since they are the ones in charge of the broadcast (i.e. how it sounds, how it appears). Now, if this issue was on many channels then it would be an issue with your equipment.

Yes, it's a long-standing issue between Ch4 and DirecTV. Nobody here knows if the issue likes with Ch4's signal, or DirecTV's reception of that signal. Best to complain to both Ch4 and DirecTV.

NBC 4 will not respond to my emails anymore. It appears to be direct TVs problem from what they told me in February. Ridiculous.

Both sides have pointed fingers at each other for far too long. Crazy.

When my free Sunday Ticket ends, I am seriously thinking of dropping them, as they have lost the NFL contract. Way too expensive, and I don't watch 90% of the channels.

While the contract expires soon and the NFL is exploring streaming options DTV hasn't lost it yet.
