Is this streaming via the app but main service is satellite, On Demand with the DirecTV satellite receiver/client, or do you have a stream-only DirecTV service?
Are you wired or wireless to your Gateway/Modem/Router/Access Point (or whatever internet boxes you use)?
Direct TV Sat, trouble shoot all available sources. uplug, sat test etc. seems to have less pauses but still doing it. 5 genies in the house. speed test
What do you mean "trouble shoot all available sources"? Please be specific as you can since we cannot see your setup.
Ok your service is primarily satellite. What exactly is buffering? Regular satellite channels, On Demand (including restart from beginning or "Signal Saver" which pull info from online), on computer or app (as internet is usually involved when you get "buffering")?
What are the models of each box you have? This is important as you would have only 1 "Genie" (main box is Genie, Genie Lite, or Genie-2). All other boxes are different HDDVR/receivers (HR and H models), Mini Genie Clients or Gemini Clients (Those would be C models).
As a note if your Genie is not the Genie-2 (HS17) than having 4 or more Clients is an issue as that is a bad setup (too often happens when dealer, or even tech doing install, doesn't properly advise you of the limitations).
End of your post seems to be incomplete as you only said "speed test". What results did you get? How are you connected to your internet? And is only 1 DirecTV box (the Genie) serving the connection to the internet for the entire setup, or do you have another HDDVR/receiver (not Client) with its own direct connection?
Juniper, I wonder if we could have a sticky thread/topic that has a "fill in the boxes questionnaire" with the questions to be answered... clearly even what "genie" still has not been answered, nor my questions on the bandwidth of the internet connection to the home, much less the DTV server(s)

Could this be done?
