DirectTV remote access for other TV’s

Hello,

I am a new customer with DirecTV and wondering if I will need additional remotes for each TV.  All are Samsung devices that are streaming capable there is one TV that is programed with remote supplied.  It is possible to view on the other TV’s but I want the same remote capablility as the main Genie.  Thank you for your time.

Glad to have you with us, @ngshields. To get the same experience on other Samsung TVs, you need a Gemini/Genie Mini (Satellite) or Gemini Air (Streaming) for each TV. These devices include the official

DIRECTV remote, which has dedicated buttons for easy navigation. You can place an order through your online account.

If using the DIRECTV App directly on Samsung Smart TVs, the Samsung remote will work for basic browsing. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

If you have the Genie-2 (HS17) you will need a Client (Mini Genie or Gemini) on each TV for the same experience.

The streaming app (smart TV or streaming device like Roku, Firestick, etc.) does not have the same remote capability as traditional TV service. Also, when you're a satellite customer, streaming does not have all the same content that your main TV boxes do. Service was built as satellite with streaming added later as a secondary perk.

If you have the regular Genie line (3rd generation was the last: HR54 / HR54R1) you can have full HDDVR or HD non-DVR receivers on the other TVs.

Be aware that this "upgrade" will come with a 24 month service agreement. If you are brand new, expect to pay $99 for each Client as a free upgrade is only eligible after 24 months of active service with account in good standing since account opened, or last upgrade. Each TV added to the service adds another TV fee to the monthly bill.
