DirecTV mobile DVR iOS app Error 100
I recently deleted the DirecTV for iPad app because I ran out of storage space and deleting content from the app did not seem to clear out data that had been downloaded to the device (under my iPad manage storage options it showed the app was taking up 57GB). I deleted the app to clear out space, however, I ran into an issue when I deleted the mobile app on my iPad and wanted to activate mobile dvr after installing the app again. When I clicked Get Started and the app attempted to activate mobile DVR, it would fail with error code 100 (unable to activate dvr, please try again later). I deleted the app several times and rebooted after deleting and re-installing.
I then discovered that my DVR had the maximum number of mobile devices connected to it (5 devices), because when I tried to activate another device it asked me to remove one. Unfortunately my iPad was not asking me to remove a device.
Finally, what ended up working for me was to use another device to remove my iPad which was still listed on the device list (despite being unable to activate it). After doing that, I still ran into the error. Instead of deleting the app again like I had been, I remember that I hadn't tried going to my iPad settings -> Directv -> clear login on startup. After doing this, when I signed in again this time the device asked me to remove a previous device as I had reached the device limit for mobile DVR. This time, I was able to finally activate mobile dvr on my iPad successfully.

Exactly how did you remove the iPad. From what list on what device?

I added a new phone, but it only let me remove one device and then added the new phone. I don’t see how this helps with the iPad problem. There are still 5 devices. The problem is the iPad gives the error instead of giving the prompt to remove a device.

Clicking “clear login at startup” is ultimately what fixed the issue on my iPad.
