Download from Directv playlist to mobile device

I thought I was using the terms correctly, but maybe not. 

I’m at home and getting ready for a trip. Since I cannot stream from my DVR to my hotel room or campsite, I’d like to take some of my previously recorded shows with me—put them on my mobile device, i.e., iPad. Then when I am away on my trip, I’d like to open my iPad and watch the show which I downloaded to my iPad. 

How do I download shows to my iPad from DVR? I’m using the app and help support. Download button not appearing after following instructions.

What model DVR do you have? Downloading recordings to an iPad is only supported with a Genie.

I’ve got a Genie HR54. I am in process of deleting app and replacing. Why not, right?

Even though I kept the app updated, now when I delete and replace, the app interface is quite different. I can see the download icon, and it works. 

Unfortunately the video quality of the download is quite poor. Reminds me of VHS. Netflix and Prime have video quality settings for downloads, but I didn’t see a setting like that with Directv. Does such a setting exist?

No, there's no "video quality" setting. I agree that the video quality is not good.
