Duplicate local channels

Why do I suddenly have multiples of our local channels (NBC, CBS , FOX is listed 2 times each)

What model boxes?

Does this happen on each?

Are the local channels exactly the same, or do some show HD, or show like -2 after it?

Have you done any troubleshooting (such as red button reset)?

Are just locals affected?

Any other symptoms?

Did anything happen before the issue started?

Yes 2 channels of NBC, CBS & Fox 

This just showed up in our channel guide this morning. 
I have the SD channels hidden so that’s not the issue. 
No other issues with the channel guide. 
Nothing happened overnight that I know of.

Please share with us if this situation is happening through all your receivers and with the same channels. Also, you can Refresh your DIRECTV channels and service to make sure if it fixes the problem.

Having SD channels set to hidden isn't an automatic guarantee. Check the listing in the guide to be sure. It is rare, but not unheard of, for the setting to glitch out. Go in to the setting, change to Hide HD Channels, exit out of the menu, then give it a minute or 2 before changing back to Hide SD Duplicates. That usually refreshes the setting so it is correct. Even if the channels don't list as both types in the guide, is still something to try to have all bases covered.

Verify coax is finger tight to all boxes. Then red button reset in an exact order.

Genie > WVB > Client > HDDVR > HD non-DVR. A full power cycle (unplugging power cord for at least a minute) is done in the same order as a simple reset. Just be sure the box is completed before moving to the next in the chain.

What models are each box, and if not all are affected which ones are and which aren't?

I have the same issue since upgrading my receivers to 4K.   SD is set to hidden and all of the duplicates are HD.  The duplicates have different numbers though.  For example, KPRC shows up as channel 2 and channel 6, both HD.  Did anything help?

@Doodski until it is corrected, you can set a favorites list that does not include channel 6 and other HD duplicates. That way, pulling up the Guide won't show those duplicates.

Hi @Doodski , we understand the importance of getting the right channels in your programming and guide.

Duplicated programming on local channels is controlled by regional broadcasters, is this happening on national channels as well?

Hey @DIRECTVhelp don’t you think it’s strange that suddenly ALL 5 of my local channels are duplicated?  It sounds to me like Directv should work with the local stations to get this rectified as they all apparently are doing something wrong.

Understood @detuch254 but considering I’m not the only market with the issue, it seems wider spread and maybe @DIRECTVhelp can have directv send a bulletin to all markets notifying them on how they should be setting themselves up properly

Unfortunately I still have this issue. I’ve called DIRECTV support. They were ‘working’ on it but never fixed the issue nor called me back. 
It’s just annoying!
