Extend pause
Is there a way to extend the length of time we can pause a program before screen saver appears?
Our issue is that when we pause a program whether recorded or live, screen goes to screen saver (advertisements)...way too soon.
--We pause to read graphs, maps, etc., and as we are doing that, a screen saver/advertisement comes up. We don't like that because it occurs so quickly and interferes with our actual "live" viewing (albeit paused).
Any constructive help appreciated. Thanks.

Nope. You can remove the ads by disconnecting the internet from the DTV receiver.

Update:
Although our device goes to screensaver within 40 seconds,
--after the screensaver appears,
---pressing the [-] key located under the [7] key
----results in a 5-minute pause.
Note that you need to allow the screen saver to appear and then press the [-] key.
Thanks to Directv staff for follow-up help.

Thanks, shannon02.
It's really an issue for us. We frequently pause to read and evaluate info as cited (graphs, maps, featured images, textual citations, etc) and it's just too short a time frame. (+/- )30 seconds. Certainly, not convenient or enjoyable.
An ongoing issue. Realistically, do you have a sense of any positive change? or feedback mechanism?
Would toggling off the energy saver feature impact this in any (positive) way?
Thanks, again.

Also, I see your update re the disabling the ads via disconnecting from internet.
-----Does this allow for longer pause time?
Is disabling the internet connection negative in other aspects?
Thanks, yet again.

Thanks, Rafael.
30 seconds really is too short a pause for us (as cited above: reading maps, charts/graphs, studying images).
I hope that you can give feedback to those who can extend the time allowed for the pause feature so that it is more functional for users/subscribers.
Appreciate your responsiveness. Thanks.

You lose On Demand, start from the beginning and paying for PPV with the remote not sure if it changes the pause time.

Let us share that after after 30 seconds of idle screen the DIRECTV ads will appear. Nevertheless, the screen saver kicks in after 5 minutes.

Thanks, Rafael.
Our current scenario is now: after imputing 'pause' and after approximately 40 seconds (sometimes 30 seconds) at the pause setting, the screen saver appears. It is not allowing the 5 minutes at pause before screensaver kicks in as you reference.
I have already done a refresh (red button), and this still persists. Is there a way to allow 5 minutes at pause before screensaver appears?
Thanks for your continued help with this issue.

My complaint about the screensaver is that when returning to the program I'm watching, the audio volume is decreased.
