Genie 2 Freezing Constantly, Video Going Out

Hello all,

For the first few years, my Genie 2 was running well (with 6 connected Genie Mini Wirelesses). However, for about the last year or so, the performance of it has degraded by a bit much. It has gotten to the point where the Live TV feed freezes on a daily basis and often the Genie 2 has to be reset for the feed to work again--and over the past few weeks, the video has even dropped as far as to completely lose video signal until the specific Mini or the Genie 2 is rebooted.

Is it time for the Genie 2 to be replaced with a new one, or is there something I can possibly do to alleviate the issue? Many of my family are becoming quite discontent at how often the freezing occurs now and how often we have to reset the Genie 2 for things to work again, and I am not aware of there being any new models or upgrades past the Genie 2.

Any on-screen error messages when it freezes?

Could the box be overheating?

It's likely that it's dying and should be replaced. Call DirecTV at the number below. Replacements are free if you have their Equipment Protection Plan, otherwise $20 for shipping.

if any of your RG6 Connections are located outside --First inspect the connections for weather damage --That will degrade your service as you have described
