Unless your TV is advanced enough to mirror the PC screen by WiFi, then you need a 10' cord. Otherwise, connect a DirecTV box to the TV as normal for your full service instead of limited online streaming for a service that is from satellite.
What is it you want to accomplish by connecting your pc to your tv? How you connect will depend on what you are trying to do. If you want to see your pc screen on your tv, you either need some sort of mirroring software on both pc and tv or you need direct connect audio and video cable or cables.
