If you have a paid subscription to TCM, then that has nothing to do with DirecTV.
However, if TCM is in your DirecTV package and you are having issues with it via the DirecTV attached permissions, then that is another matter.
So please clarify exactly how you are having issues and how you are subscribed to TCM in the first place.

What is the exact name of your package?
Have you tried updating? (TCM app as well as other apps that might affect it)
Rebooted device?
Any other troubleshooting tried?
Is it just the app having an issue or is on the TV also having problems?

I have DirecTV satellite, Choice Extra Classic.
I have TCM as part of my TV viewing package and up until this week I have been able to watch TCM on my iPad via their app. Now I can only watch TCM on my iPad via the DirecTV app

When I try to watch TCM on my iPad via the TCM app I get the following message “You are not authorized to view this content. Please contact your tv provider DirecTV”.

Choice Xtra Classic is an expired package. Previously the only reason to keep it was because it included channels like Cloo and Chiller, so was cheaper than going to Ultimate. Since those channels were shut down by their owners, the current version of Xtra should be a better fit for lower cost. I would review the channels you watch.
Not sure if just a technical issue or that authorizations are not being continued for expired packages. But something to keep in mind.

@Juniper it most certainly is a technical matter. I suggest that the OP uses the DIRECTV app on their phone or laptop to stream a live broadcast of the TCM channel and watch TCM on Demand via the same method. Unfortunately, there are several reported problems with TV Everywhere regarding DIRECTV satellite service.

I feel it is a technical issue as well. Provided the other info as sometimes you can't be too sure when it comes to a package that has been grandfathered for a long time.
And very certainly that old package is a poor value as higher cost than Xtra (the current equivalent level) plus new channels do not get added to expired packages. I highly suggest they compare the old Choice Xtra Classic against Xtra or Choice which is one level below it.
Glad they updated the naming from Choice, Choice Xtra, Choice Ultimate to just Choice, Xtra, Ultimate for the new versions. Having three packages all saying Choice caused confusion.

GHF, I was having the same problem. I have TCM on my Directv package subscription and the TCM app would not work on my iPad or iPhone. It gave an error message saying, "contact Directv". I tried again today and now it automatically goes to a tv provider page. Click on the DIRECTV logo and log in with your ATT login and password. It finally works now. Hope it works for you too.
