I don’t have HISTHD 269 anymore with the Entertainment package?
Hello,
The whole reason that I got Direct TV when I moved was for the History channel. I had it at my other place with the Entertainment package, now I don’t. Please help!
Thanks

@TS79
A few channels were removed from the Select and Entertainment packages per not enough viewership to warrant them on the lower packages. The higher ones still have them.
DirecTV announced this a while ago with an option to "opt in" to keep the channels in your existing package. Hopefully with the direction from the official "help" team in the forum to log in and do the opt-in that it is not too late. Once submitted I believe it can take up to 72hrs for the channel's return. If you don't see it back at the end of that, try a reboot of any receivers and perhaps refreshing the authorizations www.directv.com/refresh

Katherine,
Thanks for the quick reply. I clicked on the sign in link that you provided, to have the History channel restored, but all I get is an Error 503 message. I’d really like to have my History channel back ASAP please.

I am also missing a few channels that the Entertainment bundle should have, 269, History and 265 A &E. When my husband passed two months ago I called to get a cheaper plan but was also told these two channels would be offered in the bundle I was going to get. On top of that the bill still comes in my husbands name and was told it would be changed. So, I can’t log onto n account or anything, this really stinks.

@OmaCathy
As the surviving spouse, the account must either be taken in your name or canceled. The same department handles both. Call DirecTV and when you get the voice prompt say "cancel" and that should route you to the correct place.
As for the channels, they updated what packages they were in recently. Channels are subject to change at any time. Good thing is that a realignment of what package channels are in doesn't happen often.

I was told my name would be put in place of my husbands. At one time it was in both names. We have had DirecTV for a very long time. Thank you for your help.

The DirecTV account can never be in more than one name as it is tied to the SSN. Though the billing address may list multiple names, ownership of the service is just one person. You as the surviving spouse are the only one allowed to take it over.
As his name still shows, the account was not updated properly. The cancellation/retention department is the place to get that fixed.
