I'm assuming all channels are HD, unless noted, Correct?

Also, Can I watch a previous paid for streaming service with DTV Sat?

Thank You

No,  not all channels are HiDef. Major networks and premium channels are generally 720p or 1080i HD. But many are still 480i SD.

Channels that are HD will say so in the guide. Most HD channels have an SD broadcast, which is the same channel number (unlike other providers that do an entire different set of channels for SD vs HD). But there are some channels that are only HD or SD. Channel lineups use to list which ones had which version but they've been simplified.

What do you mean about the "previous paid for streaming service"? Naturally if you not paying for it anymore you can no longer watch it. Also, only the new client Gemini (C71KW) has the option to add any streaming apps. DirecTV was built for satellite, not streaming other providers.

If you paid for the service directly via their website or another means, you should be able to.

Example: If you get HBO Max via an AT&T service like a cell phone or internet, if you paid for Paramount+ or Peacock via Wal-Mart or another third party.

If that stuff was through your old TV provider, you lost it. If you still have access to that email address, you might still have it.

Example: If I paid a for Showtime package via Spectrum TV that included Paramount+ and then switched to DirecTV, I'd lose Paramount+ and I'd probably lose access to my saved shows...but I'm not sure how that works.

There's definitely something good to be said about signing up for services via Gmail, Yahoo or another email address that isn't part of an ISP.

OK, further explanation, I came from "X...." to DTV Sat. I have AT&T fiber for internet.

So X had different channels for HD and SD, and auto tuned to HD, just what I was familiar with.

As far as the streaming goes, I'm a bit puzzled.

I have Peacock and watched with a Firestick b/c my 'smart tv' does not connect to the internet any more :(  So, is it safe to assume I still need the fire stick to watch?

Also, I have Paramount+ with my package, witch I assumed it was streaming, but it does have a channel number, so Not then ???

DirecTV the channels whether they are SD or HD have the same channel number. Your guide settings should be set to "Hide SD Duplicates" that way you don't see the channels twice. You can set it to "Hide HD Channels" if you have an older non-HD TV on the setup so it only shows the SD version. There is also "Show All Channels" which will list both SD and HD channels side by side, which I only find useful for troubleshooting.

DirecTV is service by satellite. Boxes connected to internet is for On Demand (online library of some channels) and ordering PPVs by remote, as well as sending anonymous viewing data. For any actual streaming services, your Firestick (Roku, etc.) would be needed.

If your account includes access to a plus (+) services, like Paramount+, then you log into that service's website or app (again on Firestick or other) selecting what TV provider you have. The access is not on DirecTV equipment, with the exception of the special Gemini.

Thanks for your inputs, @litzdog911@Juniper, and @baseballisback.

Yes, @ZAK1. Peacock is a streaming service so if you have a Gemini device as part of your satellite set up, you can download the app on it or keep the Fire Stick connected to your TV. For Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, you can watch it through your TV's Guide (Ch. 545 - 556) or stream it by downloading the app on your device and logging in using your DIRECTV credentials.
