intermittent signal from direct tv h25-500 to vizio d43fx-fr using hdmi cable - new setup

First thing to try is a different HDMI cable. How long is the cable?

cable provided by direct tv tech on installation is 3 ft (to my eye)

have a longer cable in hdmi 2 slot - it doesn't work either.

the only thing i have not tried (it it not an easy thing for me to do) is connecting to hdmi 1, which presently is connected to my dennon amplifier.

what is frustrating is it worked when the tech set it up yesterday - then last night it didn't work.  this am it worked for a while - now it does not.

TV has external antenna which I use a lot, and it has watch free internet choices, which i also use - so selecting hdmi direct tv is one of 3 viewing choices

if that matters?

Is the H25 your only DirecTV box?

Perhaps it has a defective HDMI port.

i get your message - somebody in the system isn't playing nice.

is it the direct tv box or my tv?    one box, one tv.

Hard to say if it's the H25 or your TV. If it happens with all of the TV's HDMI Inputs, I would blame the cable or the H25's HDMI output. 

i also tried unplugging both from power at different times while troubleshooting.   should i try unplugging both from power at the same time?

It's not a power issue. 

unless direct tv gave me a box with a defective hdmi output - hooked up yesterday ....

all 3 of my tv hdmi inputs are working - 'scuse me - work with everything except direct tv box

direct tv does not work on hdmi 2 or 3 on testing
