I discovered History Channel was no longer available when I tried to log in to the History Channel website using my DTV name and password.  Got message that it was not in my package and then went to guide on DTV and saw it was not there.  I was able to find option to "Opt In."  After I completed the Opt [Back] In, it did not happen immediately but was available within maybe 48 hours and now seems to be functioning as before.

I do not think I ever received notice that it was going to be deleted as I watch History regularly and would have responded to notice of deletion.

I opted 9 days ago to add the History channel (A&E) to my channel lineup.  Still not there.

I was asked by Community Support to go the chat icon next to the bell; however, there is no such icon.  Over 9 days ago I requested to add the History channel (A&E) to my lineup because it was removed without me being aware.  Can you help?

BonDen, You are right!  No chat icon.  Frustrating!  I have also been waiting over a week.  With the amount they charge for entertainment, we should at least be able to get our lineup.

Hi, @barbluvsbeaches2. Thanks for your time, we know how valuable it is to enjoy our favorite channels.

As History Channel is being removed from the Entertainment package for new and existing customers since 003/10/2022. Could you please confirm with me if you have already opt-in to keep the channel?

If not, in the following link you can find the step by step DIRECTV OPT-IN

We are going to be here if more assistance is needed.

Everybody who is having trouble just calling into the loyalty department and ask them for help. Call the main number then say billing when you get the billing department ask them to transfer you to the loyalty department. Tell them your issue, that you have opted in and ask them to refresh your service. The Loyalty department should be able to get this resolved for you.

I would refresh the page, re log in, or change browsers if you cannot find the notification icon. You must be logged in to see it.

I have been a loyal customer of Directv for more than 20 years and this service just gets more and more frustrating.  I was never informed that The History Channel would be removed from my channel lineup.  I regularly DVR and watch shows on this channel.  I noticed that they were no longer recording and then found that the channel is no longer available with no explanation.  I have since used the OPT-IN link.  I don't know that I'll be continuing as a customer since AT&T doesn't seem to regard customer service as a priority.

Hi @ajtd2000, we value those 20 plus years you've been with us and get your need for your favorites channels.

Impacted customers were notified on their October 2021 bill, customer who did not receive the bill message were notified via email or direct mail in November 2021.

Let's meet in a Direct Message to take a closer look at options to bring your History channel back to your channel lineup. Please check your DIRECTV Message Inbox (It's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums)

Called in to Directv and had History Channel restored. Worked fine for 24 hrs. It was then removed again. Called back in and had it restored a 2nd time. This time it worked for about a week before it was once again annoyingly removed. Called in a 3rd time. Has not be disconnected again since. Here's the part that really frustrates me; History Channel on-demand has never been restored and still doesnt work. Says I'm not subscribed to channel even though I am. Mentioned this everytime I called in and no one could help. They couldn't even figure out what was wrong. Said they would be passing the issue on to tech support and email me any progress. Well, that was about 2 months ago. Have never received any emails with updates and history on demand still doesnt work. And no, I dont want to talk via direct message.

Sincerely,

-A soon to be ex-Directv customer

(Streaming packages directly from the networks seems the cheaper option anyway)

I pay over a $100 a month and you disconnect the History Channel that we were watching 70 to 80% of all the channels, just so that I have to upgrade my channels so that I have to pay more?????? I done. I have been with Directv for 14 years +. Not Happy
