I see a black screen. It flashes what is programmed to show, but then goes black. I have model #HR54-700.

Does this happen on ANY other channels or just your channel 2? Do you have other receivers, and if so, do they have this same issue?
Something that could really help isolate your equipment is asking others around you who also have Directv if they are facing this issue. If so, it is most certainly an issue with CBS and you should contact the channel owner/broadcaster to let them know that their channel on DIRECTV is blacked out.
