Unable to delete recordings
I have a new Hisense canvas tv with the DTV app added. My main box is in another room. When we access the app and are done watching a show, we are unable to delete that show from the library. We then need to go to the main TV to delete the recorded show. What a headache. I thought with the APP you have the same flexibilty as if you were watching a show thru the main box.

Are you a DirecTV Satellite or Stream customer? With Satellite equipment, you can only delete recordings on the DVR, not remote Client boxes.

We are Satellite however we are using the app on another tv. I was told by the tech that we could and apparently we can't.

You're a Satellite customer. I moved it to the satellite forum. Doesn't matter if you are using an app to watch your shows. It's Satellite related.

DirecTV satellite only allows deletion from the DVR itself, not the app. It has been a long requested feature but so far nothing has indicated it changing.
The streaming-only versions (DIRECTV STREAM or DirecTV via Internet) have some key differences. Before they sold off their acquisition of DirecTV, AT&T was pushing hard for the streaming services which I think resulted in misunderstandings on what is not exactly the same. Similar issue happened when AT&T bought DirecTV and they didn't bother educating their employees that DirecTV and U-Verse TV weren't going to operate under the exact same policies.
Then again it could have been just a tech flipping their mouth to complete the order and get out of there.
As for your post being moved, the forum sections are for what service you are subscribed to/paying for. Though you are using the app, you are under satellite service to begin with. I do wish the forum could clarify that a little better as you are not unique in that posting confusion.
