watch direct tv online

I am unable to watch any DirecTV channels online on my Mac. I keep getting it starting but comes up with an error "Im sorry we ran into an error, please restart the player...

Still having the issue here. I can open the video and it will work for about 30 seconds or so, then I get the "Sorry we ran into a problem Please restart the video player."

Hello @williamfgray , let's check what's going on with your service.

To begin, this issue is the result of the problem with the way Adobe Flash is interacting with your browser


The first thing we'll need to do is to remove Adobe Flash player plug-in from your computer

Let us know as soon as you are done with the step, in case you have any other question about it, we are here to help.

Julian - I don't have Adobe Flash player installed on my Mac... This was a new install since April and I haven't installed it since it was deprecated.

Thank you for the information. In that case, we recommend you take a look at the couple of things before streaming on your MacBook Pro.

If prompted, select Install DIRECTV Player
- Find the DIRECTV_Player.dmg file in your Downloads folder and open it
- Find the VideoGuard.13.0.dmg file in your Downloads folder and open it
- Double-click DIRECTV_Player.pkg to start installation
- Double-click VideoGuard.13.0.pkg to start installation
- When installation is complete, refresh the browser window and/or restart the browser

Julian, William's problem appears to be exactly as mine in case number #13203399. Looks like the same equipment and OS and does the same thing. But I also have an older iMac that experiences the same issue and I've noted that in my responses. 

As to Flash, the Flash Player was deprecated in 2017 and officially discontinued at the end of 2020 for all users outside China, as well as non-enterprise users. All operating systems removed it.
