Watch DVR recorded programs
Can I watch a DVR recorded programs on the road with my laptop that does not have the app? I can sign on to my account and watch live tv but I want to access my recorded programs. I don't see any place online to get to my DVR. Thanks

The only way to watch programs from the DVR is to download them to a mobile device with the app since DTV dropped support for streaming outside of your home network. Computers/laptops can no longer stream from the DVR since DTV dropped their program that never got out of beta testing that I can't remember the name of.

Currently DirecTV does not have an option to stream DVR out-of-home. Your laptop can only access what is available on DirecTV's or individual channel's website (if they list DirecTV as an option to sign in with provider).
If you have a 2nd generation Genie (HR44) or later, you can use Mobile DVR to copy recordings (30 days) to a mobile device (smart phone or tablet) to watch on the go. This is for on the device itself, not casted to a larger screen.
