You have to check the TV's app store to see if HBO max is available on it or get a streaming device to connect to the TV.

According to the HBO Max help site, only select 2016 and newer Samsung Smart TVs are supported. See here: https://help.hbomax.com/Answer/Detail/20

Get yourself an AMAZON FIRE STICK. I have one hooked up to my 2013 Samsung Smart TV and am in happy land now....... Opens up a whole new world of apps.......like Paramount +, Disney +, Discovery +, Netflix............. the list goes on.
HBO Max to stream on Amazon Fire TV, 'Firestick' and Fire tablets starting Tuesday
