Can Fast Forward thru TCM movies in OnDemand Library
New to DirecTV Stream. I've read a lot of comments from people annoyed that they cant fast forward through commercials on programs they have recorded and I understand the reasoning behind the inability to do this. However, I am unable to fast forward thru OnDemand content on TCM. TCM does not have any commercials, so I am confused by this. I have used several other streaming services and not one of them prevents you from FF content on this station. The weird thing is, if I am viewing on my laptop, I can fast forward. Is this some glitch I am experiencing? Further, The movies in the OnDemand catalog are not alphabetized. What's with that? I must say, if I can not FF thru content on a network that has no commercials that is a deal breaker for me. Especially considering that this platform literally costs twice as much as what I typically pay.

Most On Demand networks limit FF ability, regardless of whether you're trying to skip commercials or jump ahead in the program.

Even TCM could do so, even for select programs. Sadly this is becoming more common from the networks.
Not saying it absolutely is the issue, just that it is still a valid possiblity.

Can't buy it. Since you can actually FF some of the content on TCM on Directv and not others, it's difficult to accept that it's not a glitch in the platform. Plus, the fact that I can fast forward when viewing on my laptop. It's a shame because there is a nice breadth of content on this platform, but if TCM isnt up to par, I'm out. The other thing that I dont like about this platform is that the content in OnDemand contains movies that have not run yet - - therefore it really isnt OnDemand.

Some networks have in the passed only disabled the function on some programming. Made me wonder if some agreements with shows or advertisers required it when the network didn't have it across the board. It could also be indictive of TCM starting to implement this restriction and it will become more common just like it is for other networks.
It is still possible just a glitch. But until we get an official answer or the 'problem' is fixed, both are just real possibilities. I hope it is a glitch as the other option is bad enough without it expanding to more networks. On Demand did not use to be this way, but forced advertisements has become the norm.
On Demand just means you don't have to wait on the schedule in the TV guide for the exact window of time the TV allows you to watch it each day, but can instead download it for as long as it is available. Not having FF/REW, and when the program was launched/run doesn't change that.

Today, I cant even access any OnDemand content. This platform is slow and twitchy. Keep getting a message that reads... "Well, that was unexpected. Looks like we ran into some trouble loading content. Please try again in a bit."

How are you connected to your home internet? (Ethernet, WiFi, etc.)
Have you reset both the DIRECTV STREAM box as well as your internet Gateway?
Any issues with other internet connected devices?
Any other issues with DIRECTV STREAM?
Anything update or change with your internet setup before the issue started?
You can also try a powercycling DIRECTV STREAM and Gateway (unplug power for at least a minute) and then have the Gateway back on first before DIRECTV STREAM. Perhaps resetting network defaults (on DIRECTV STREAM) and then connecting again in case it refreshes anything with how they communicate.
