Channel Change

Every night at 8:20 pm my TV switches from the channel we’re watching to Netflix or Prime. We have the Direct TV Entertaiment Package.

Is this the TVs built-in Netflix and Prime apps or a streaming device? There may be a setting on the TV to automatically switch to those apps at that time. If not, you can try uninstalling both apps and see if you come across the issue.

This is most certainly not an issue with DIRECTV

The Netflix and Prime are part of the Direct TV channel line up

DTV sat doesn't carry netflix or prime they are competitors.  This is a TV problem.

att Direct TV streaming has links in their channel guide for HBOMAX, Netflix and Prime Bideo

That explains why now. You have DIRECTV STREAM, not DIRECTV satellite. I’ll move your thread over to the stream side.

I think i've seen this issue before. Do you have your Dtv Stream box ot TV in the google home app?

Thanks, We don’t use or have the Google app on our TVs. The channel change happens when watching live streaming not recorded content. I’m going to see if it switches channels when watching recorded. I’ll test it tonight.

No, the google home app on your phone. You can add devices and control them using your phone and commands/features. If you read that thread I linked to, it goes into detail. Someone on that thread said they had their tv or Dtv stream box device added in their google home app (phone) and it was causing the channel change/app change at a certain time Their time was 830---yours is 820. Doesn't seen like a coincidence.

I don’t use the Google app on my phone for the TV. I’ll check with the other family members that use our Direct TV account that are no longer living at home. Thanks for the post
