delete recordings remotely

I am away from home and wish to delete recordings to make space on my DVR for future recordings that are scheduled

OK. So go ahead. You got a phone, table, PC or any other supported device?

To expand on that - if you run the app on a mobile device, you have the same access to the DVR that you would have on a device at home.  You would be able to schedule recordings, delete recordings, or watch them.

I can’t figure out how to do this when I am away from home .   Can someone help?   I can schedule remotely, watch remotely if they are streamable,  but then I can’t delete it.   It is so weird

Do you have satellite service or Stream (aka “DirecTV via Internet”)?  Your mention of “if they are streamable” raises the question for me, because for Stream/via Internet, everything that is recorded in the DVR is “streamable”.  If you have satellite service, this is the wrong forum to ask questions.

For Stream/via Internet, the DVR is “in the cloud”, all devices are equivalent, and you can do anything from anywhere.  I am not very familiar with the satellite service, but it uses an “on-premise” DVR (a physical disc in a set top box in your home), and it may be that you are limited in what you can do remotely.

Thanks for the answer.   I do have satellite bit some are stream remotely from that.  Bummer though. I used to be able to delete remotely,  but now not…

If you go here (which is the satellite service forum) and re-ask your question, you’ll find someone knowledgeable about that service who I’m sure will be able to help you (or at least give you the actual info).
