If you are a streaming-only customer (not satellite), than there is no substitute from DirecTV. Both the Gemini and Gemini Air use the same remote and function essentially the same. Air is Wi-Fi only where the box version can connect to internet by Ethernet as well.

Your other options would be 3rd party streaming devices (Roku, Firestick, etc.). They use their own type of remotes. Be aware, only the Gemini/Gemini Air has channel numbers like a more traditional remote.
