Have to login almost every time I turn on the tv

Frequently I’ll watch DIRECTV. Turn off the tv and then when I try to watch it again, I have to login again.

Login to what? There is no login required for Directv satellite. Are you talking about Directv Stream?

Hi @Cosbyd, thanks for reaching us out. We are here to help!

First, let us know what type of service do you have, if DIRECTV Satellite or DIRECTV STREAM?

DirectTV stream, used to be ATT.

DIRECTV STREAM used to be AT&T TV / AT&T TV NOW, which was DIRECTV NOW originally.

This is the DirecTV (satellite, not streaming) part of the forum. Moving you to DIRECTV STREAM.

@Cosbyd. We are here to help!

Your DIRECTV STREAM service is pre-configured with auto sign-in to make it easier for you to start using it.

In this specific case you can try to set up the auto sign-in manually with the following steps.

1. Go to your account overview.
2. In My streaming devices' area, select manage.
3. In the auto sign-in, change the selector from Off to On.
4. Follow the prompts to complete.

Please give it a try and let us know if it helps!

No. Directv Stream was never UVerse. UVerse still exists and it is not a streaming service. As noted above by @Juniper:

“DIRECTV STREAM used to be AT&T TV / AT&T TV NOW, which was DIRECTV NOW originally”.

If you are using the app for the Samsung Smart TV, then that very well may be your issue. The app is junk and has always been flaky. There are 100's of posts on the issues with the app for that device. There has been little if any improvement to the app for years. You honestly should use an external streaming device, like most others have opted to do.

Direct TV Stream  Formerly ATT Uverse.

Those are two separate providers, not the same under different names. U-Verse is still running, through being grandfathered it doesn't accept new customers. The prior names of your current service are mentioned in my earlier post.

Unless you mean you switched from U-Verse to DIRECTV STREAM. So saying you are formally a U-Verse customer before canceling it and starting with the other one.

We are new customers with Direct tv streaming.  I have called multiple times with this same issue.  Our TV in the family room that has a box works perfectly.   But, we have two tv’s in our bedrooms that we use the app to stream.  Once either tv is turned off we have to sign into our internet and Directv every time.  We have fairly new Samsung smart tv’s and have had no issue with Spectrum or YouTube.  We love the picture Directv provides as well as the cost but both are not worth the aggravation!  Please help!

So those TVs are Samsung, correct? Are you using the native app on the sets, or do have external devices attached to the sets? The native app for the Samsung has major performance issues. 100's of posts on the app. Most have decided to go with external streaming devices to resolve the issues.

Yes, both tv’s that do not work are Samsung’s with no external streaming device.  So, to be clear if we buy Roku sticks for each set this should resolve our issues?

Thank you for such a speedy response!
