Missing Channel

After 4 years, is a resolution close between KFXK and Directv to get Fox back to Tyler and Longview, Texas residents?

Unfortunately, White Knight Broadcasting stations have remained unavailable to our customers despite our ongoing efforts to work with them. We know it's frustrating. We look forward to future talks to bring them back on terms that make sense for our customers. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

Doubtful. That station is owned by White Knight Broadcasting, but it is operated behind the scenes by Nexstar. This is how Nexstar gets around regulations that only allow so many channels owned. A loophole that greatly needs to be closed.

Channel negotiations happen behind the scenes. All we get to know is if there is a resolution or not, the specifics are never shared as part of negotiating agreements. Best guess is since it is controlled by the monster Nexstar, nothing is close.

Unless DirecTV caves to their demands and raises everyone's bill that much more or Federal regulations put a stop to Nexstar exploiting the loophole controlling more networks than it is permitted to own, I wouldn't expect any changes.

@Gigemaggies

Time to accept Nexstar wields too much power (over White Knight Broadcasting and others) and the channel is gone from DirecTV indefinitely (not necessarily forever, but no signs of any change soon, so until something upsets the entire industry).

Those who cannot live without the channel should just look into other options to watch it (local antenna or other broadcast options).
