Multiple Homes
I have two homes, one primary and one more of a weekend / vacation home. I have 3 TV's in my primary home and 2 in my other home. Often I run down there on the weekend and my wife stays home. Do I need two services then or can I use one service at both locations?
I have 2gb internet at my primary home, 1gb at my secondary both fiber connections so plenty of bandwidth.

@bcbsncjlj my daughter is logged in at home, I am trying to watch the service and still getting the error on having Too Many Streams. I am not sure how to resolve this. I call in to customer service and they do not understand my issue...

How many devices do you have connected? Article on devices and stream limits below:

2 on my second network... but I just verified, they are both connected via a roku... is that the issue? I thought one was a roku tv.
Do you know if I can add a second network to my account? so I do not have to log out every time I go to a different room when I am at my second network home?

@bcbsncjlj yes I understand that. We have Directv not the Directv stream. However I am just letting folks know that we were able to get channels on the roku by logging into our Directv account. We don’t have every channel but were able to get all the major networks NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX and get live TV by accessing our Directv account.

Why are you posting that here in the Stream forum? Your DirecTV statements have nothing to do with this service.

I pay for two different internet services since I have two homes. so two different IP's. I am trying to use my Directv Stream at both of my homes. I was hoping to use one account, since it says I stream two devices outside of my home network.

When you setup the account on 1 of the gateways you established that network as your home base based on the IP address. Installing or running the app on another gateways is considered out of home with the restrictions applied. I know of know way to established 2 gateways into one. Of course you can always subscribe and pay for another.

@bcbsncjlj ummm wow. At first I didn’t know the difference but then another commenter explained it to me. I was just giving an update on how I got it to work. I thought it may be helpful in case others were confused about the two services too and wondering if they could get it to work like I did. You have a blessed day now.

Really wish that AT&T chose a different name for the stream-only service because of the significant differences between it and the limited/secondary streaming perks of DirecTV satellite service. I hope those that pitch the name ideas, and those that approve them, will finally learn from this fiasco.

The AT&T folks haven't at least. They're introducing a new Microcell. The product name is "Cell Booster."

We recently signed up for Directv streaming. We use it in 3 households next door to each other.
We previously had YouTube TV with the same situation (3 neighboring households). With that service each household had a separate login.
With separate logins each household could set up the account with their own favorite channels etc. If it was set to start on the most recent channel, it showed what was on in each house, not what my daughter was last watching in another house.
Can we do the same with DirecTV streaming (set up 3 different accounts)?

Nope. There are no profiles - just the main subscriber. Everyone is based on the subscriber. Been asked for a lot in the past few years but as of yet not available.

Certainly you can have three different accounts. But the catch is that you must pay for each of the three accounts.

I am trying to set up two dedicated DIRECTV STREAM DEVICES in my house.
The second one will not accept my router password. I can use a roku on the second, but not the dedicated box. Is a second dedicated DIRECTV STREAM DEVICE allowed.
